Facilities Initiatives

UAB Athletics is placing a major emphasis on building new facilities and improving the current facilities and services.   The primary goal is to provide student-athletes a first-class experience, as well as to be competitive in Conference USA and nationally. 

Since 2007, UAB Athletics has witnessed unprecedented growth in facilities enhancements with the completion of the following initiatives: Strength & Conditioning Center (photos); Sports Medicine & Athletic Training Facility (photos); Don M. and Marsh Hoke Hire Student-Athlete Academic Center (photos); On-campus Softball Field (photos); Softball Hitting Facility; Baseball Hitting Facility; and Scoreboards, Video Boards and LED Signage.

With the success of securing the necessary funding for these projects, athletics has begun the initial stages of identifying, evaluating and prioritizing its other capital project needs.

Presently, Blazer Boosters is seeking and securing funding for the following two facility projects: 1) Softball & Baseball Building and 2) Baseball Diamond Fund.
